María Manuela González es Doctora en Economía por la Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Su área de especialización es el estudio de eficiencia, productividad y regulación aplicadas al sector del transporte y puertos. En los últimos años está ampliando su campo de investigación a temas de puertos y medioambiente.
Ha trabajado en proyectos de investigación para instituciones públicas y privadas, a nivel nacional e internacional, como el Banco Mundial, el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo, el Gobierno de España, el Gobierno de Canarias y la Fundación BBVA.
