Eugenio Martín, Juan Luis

Master in Economics, University of York (United Kingdom), and Ph.D. in Economics, University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. In 2003 he was an Assistant Professor at the University of York and between 2004 and 2006 he was a Research Associate at the University of Nottingham. In 2006 he joined the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where today he works as a University Professor. He has worked as a consultant for the World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, European Investment Bank, World Wide Fund, World Travel and Tourism Council, and VisitScotland, among others. He has published scientific articles on topics related to the economic analysis of tourism: determinants of demand, expenditure, impact analysis and forecasting, economic evaluation or experimental design. He is a member of the Editorial Board of Tourism Economics magazine and the Journal of Sustainable Tourism.

Tourism Economics, in particular: determinants of tourism demand, forecasting, evaluation of economic impacts, optimal tourism development and sustainable tourism.

Methodologies of interest: Microeconmetrics, Structural Time Series, Panel Data, Multi-criteria Decision Making, Structural Equation Models and Computable General Equilibrium.
